From Gerbier de Jonc to Vallon Pont d’Arc
Our hotel, part of the esteemed Logis de France network, is the ideal base from which to discover Ardèche, its magnificent landscapes, its picturesque villages, its renowned markets (e.g. Coucouron, Thueyts, Aubenas) and of course its multiple activities to do in both summer and winter.
Some of the things to see and do include the Gerbier de Jonc mountain and the source of the Loire, Lake Issarlès, plus the charming village of Antraigues-sur-Volane, featuring the home of the late, great French singer Jean Ferrat. Then discover Aubenas with its listed château and the Abbeys of Mazan and Notre Dame des Neiges. There’s also the Pont d’Arc cave complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, plus don’t miss the replica of the decorated Chauvet Cave at Pont d’Arc (the largest replica site in the world).
Activities include: canoeing; canyoning; aqua trekking; climbing; via ferrata at Vallon Pont d’Arc; walking, riding and cycling across the Ardèche department; fishing (5000 km of waterways); mushroom picking; dog-sledding and dog-hiking year long in the Vallée d'Amarok; alpine skiing in the Croix de Bauzon at the heart of the Tanargue Massif and cross-country skiing in the Nordic ski area of Chavade Bel-Air at the heart of the Ardèche mountains.µ
When you get back from your adventures, enjoy the outdoor heated swimming pool in warmer months, or go and visit the numerous local artisans (cheese and charcuterie) in the village of Lanarce.
